Letter from the Publisher

2016novdecHappy Holidays!  The season is upon us and we love the holiday celebrations in our town.  So many concerts, shows, and decorations surround us.  It’s looking like a world class city—and we’ve just begun.

As we appreciate what we already have, our heads are turning to what’s ahead.  A new 1,500 hundred seat auditorium, the possible and proposed “Tysons Circle” for Route 7 and 123, more luxury living choices, 15 new movie screens coming to Tysons, Bikeshare, new parks and the new and exciting “Boro” under construction. And more dining choices everyday!

We hope you’ll stay tuned for more details on these developments and more. We will do our best to keep you posted.  We promise.

Our Holiday Event Guide is packed with options and ideas for friends and family this season.  We hope you’ll take some time to discover the craft shows, concerts and other venues.

Our Top Picks for area catering is always a hit with our readers, as is our guide to Restaurant Gift Cards—you can’t go wrong giving the gift of a delightful meal with a loved one or friend.

How about some skiing after the festivities?  Renee has a few places she thinks you’ll enjoy.  Music by Art Garfunkel and Griffin House?  Sure.  A little history about the Tysons area from Mike Berger and Historic Vienna, Inc?  You bet. Jill’s House is celebrating six years of helping families—and is striving to reach more.  Read about this incredible gift.  Analiese Kreutzer  shares the story—Thanks, Analiese!

Dinner at a friend’s house?  Well, almost… here are some of your neighbors’ favorite recipes.  Enjoy.

Gifts for him, gifts for her, gifts for those in need.  Give if you can—our nonprofits need you help more than ever.  Linda Barrett’s “The How-Tos of Wine” is especially helpful this time of year. Thanks, Linda.

You don’t send me flowers?  No excuses—My Florist in Tysons should be everyone’s florist. Rick tells you why.

And more from Renee Sklarew, Lauren Simmons, Jan King, Dr. Dima, Allison Chase Sutherland, and of course, Marsha McAllister and Lisa Sheffer  from the Dulles projects.

As we close another year of publishing, please know how much we appreciate the support, letters and company of our readers and advertisers. We are humbled to be among so many wonderful people.

A big thank you to our staff who is always diligent in their efforts to bring you what we feel you would enjoy and do it with a grace and style that never ceases to amaze me. You Rock!

Have a safe and healthy new year. See you in 2017!

Cheers…
