Letter from the Publisher

2016JulAugIt’s summer again in our New American City, and the festivals and coming attractions are more exciting than ever.  “Slide the City,” the record breaking waterslide will be here to cool things off on the 16th of July.  Cirque du Soleil returns to Tysons with its newest show “Kurios,” The Plaza at Tysons Corner has summer concerts lined up and a plethora of new restaurants and clubs are opening to keep us busy exploring new dining and entertainment options.

Our skyline continues to be busy too.  New and exciting options for luxury living in the heart of city kept our writer Ana busy. Some great developments for you to explore—and right on the Silver Line!

Got family visiting you this summer?  Check out some of the area’s hotels that offer great “friends and family” values and great prices.   Give yourself a vacation too!

Keith’s on top of the music and arts beat.   Read his reviews on many of the acts coming to the area and the story of the magnificent dancer, Shu-Chen Cuff.

We took some time to review a few of our area’s top Builders and Architects; we hope you’ll consider them when planning your next home improvement project.

When we met Dani Keating and heard her story of her trek across Spain, I thought our readers might enjoy hearing about her adventure. Thanks Dani.

Say what you want about the burgers, but there is no disputing the large heart and helping hand of the folks at The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington.  Rick has the story.  Rick also spent some time with Emma Cech at “The Happy Tart,” bringing gluten-free baking to those of us looking for incredible gluten-free treats.

Get away—someplace close by.  Reneé put together some ideas for the quick and easy getaways not far from home.  Beach, Mountains, just for the ladies?  We got them.

Here’s an app you can use on the road.  Read about urgent.ly… they have you covered.

Happy 100th Birthday to our National Park Service.  How lucky are we?  Linda has the story.

Plus… Craft Beers, Pets, Election fun with Jan King, The Iris Inn, loving and looking good—so much more!

On behalf of all of us at VivaTysons, thanks for your continued readership and support, please have a safe summer—see you in September.

Cheers!
