DC’s Dancing Stars Gala Raises Over $185,000 for Charities

On Oct. 24, Tysons came alive as hundreds of dance enthusiasts were treated to an evening of dancing, cheering and talent, all for a good cause: the 2nd annual DC’s Dancing Stars Gala at the Hyatt Regency.

Gala co-chairs and Fred Astaire Dance Studio-Fairfax owners, Maria Coakley David and Jim David, and special co-host, Emmy Award-winning actor and producer Vincent De Paul brought together DC celebrities and professional dancers from their studio to perform together in front of this lucky audience to raise both funds and awareness for five local charities: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, T.A.P.S., Marymount University, Our Military Kids, and The Code of Support Foundation.

2015 DC’S DANCING STARS GALA is a new fundraiser that incorporates 12 local DC Celebrities who are each committed to learning a professionally choreographed dance routine which is performed with a Fairfax, Virginia FRED ASTAIRE DANCE STUDIO Professional the day of the Gala. Each Star undergoes an amazing journey as they prepare for their chance to win the 2015 DC’s Dancing Stars Gala mirror ball trophy, all in the spirit of giving back to a charities from the DC area.
