Describing themselves as “loud boys playing pop music,” five friends out of Baltimore have developed quite the following after the release of its latest recording, “Dad Claps at the Mom Prom.”
The band members go by their nicknames, Big Snack, D-Mac, Special K, Petunia and Triscuit, and the guys will be among the bands playing at this weekend’s upcoming Sweetlife Festival.
KL: What can those coming to see you at Sweetlife expect to hear and see?
SC: Loud people yelling at them on a slightly raised platform with a hint of pop music going on at the same time.
KL: How would you describe your music?
SC: Loud, feels-y pop—that’s a cool one that someone said one time.
KL: How did the group come together and how long have you been playing?
SC: We met in a really weird alley and kinda’ just naturally beatboxed out our first album acapella. The rest is history.
KL: Where can fans get your music?
SC: Online. Google is a cool search engine that we pop on. We’re hoping to have a new full-length out this Fall, which is super exciting.
KL: What are your goals in this industry? Where would you like to be five years from now?
SC: Somewhere in life that closely resembles something between the movie Hot Shots Part Deux and The Godfather.
