Two Days of Festival Fun at Sweetlife

If you’re one of the tens of thousands of music lovers to have attended the Sweetgreen music Festival known as Sweetlife over the past five years at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., you understand what an amazing time the event is.

This year, the folks behind the festival have taken the fun even further, and for the first time ever, Sweetlife will be held over two days—May 30 and 31—offering everyone an extra day of food, fun, and fantastic musical acts.

Headlining this year’s festival are Kendrick Lamar (closing Saturday night) and Calvin Harris (closing Sunday) and more than 30 artists will take the stage overall, including the legendary Billy Idol, the Pixies and Tove Lo.

Kendrick Lamar is best known for his work in rap music culture, with his most popular songs being “m.A.A.d city” and “Swimming Pools (Drank).” He also stars in Taylor Swift’s new song, “Bad Blood,” and the highly anticipated music video. Lamar was a big name at the 2013 Sweetlife Festival, engaging the crowd with his very popular song at the time, “F***in’ Problem.”

Calvin Harris is submerged in the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) genre, but also works with pop artists. This songwriter/producer has worked with big names such as Rihanna and Florence Welsh. He performed at the Verizon Center in December, for Hot 99.5’s Annual Jingle Ball, and was a huge hit among the DC crowd. Over the past year, he’s hit the charts with “Summer,” “Blame,” and “Outside.”
