JV’s Restaurant
This longtime running establishment has been open since 1947 and is not slowing down anytime soon. Offering a wide range of musical acts, home-cooked meals, and an extensive wine and beer list, JV’s is a fantastic Falls Church staple hidden unsuspectingly in a strip mall. As you walk in you’ll notice the ambiance is filled with American memorabilia and homages to US Veterans. They have live music almost every night of the week and also during the afternoon on the weekends. Musical acts can be local but you can also find some very popular cover bands. Also, since combining its establishment with the old pharmacy next door, JV’s capacity jumped from 50 to 120, so you can expect a large bar and a large dance floor.

Breakers Sky Lounge
Nightlife entertainment doesn’t come any better than Breakers Sky Lounge. This two-level lounge and pool hall establishment is a wonderful destination for weekends or late night weekday gatherings. Although primarily a popular spot for pool and music lovers, Breakers keeps the crowd flowing in with its amicable staff, affordable drinks, and its awesome wings. The Mosaic District
Conveniently located near the Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metro station, the Mosaic District
is an upscale shopping mall comprising of an assortment of restaurants and shopping establishments. The massive Target is perfect for your general needs while other retail outfits like Northern Outfitters, Williams Sonoma and Barnes & Noble are also popular destinations for local shoppers and visitors. You can get your groceries at MOM’s and if you have the time definitely catch a movie at the Angelika Film Center. This arthouse movie theater is well-known for showcasing independent films and during certain dates in the summer you can catch a free family-friendly screening at the adjacent park. The State Theatre
Within close distance to the East Falls Church Metro station, the State Theatre has been operating in the Washington, DC metro area since 1936 where it was originally a movie theater. It stayed that way until 1988 and it took until 1999 for the theater to reopen its doors as an events hall and music theatre. Today, the State Theatre not only offers fantastic, live musical acts, a long list of beers, as well as stellar bar fare menu, but the establishment’s space is also available for rent. There have been everything from corporate events and parties to weddings and mitzvahs.

Jammin’ Java
Operated by three musical brothers and genuine music-lovers, Jammin’ Java is most importantly recognized as a live music venue for people of all ages. For the nightly, intimate concert shows this music club seats about 200 guests. During the morning shifts you can catch a more kid-friendly show–but regardless of when you show up you can expect a respectable and friendly staff, affordable drinks, and killer pizzas. One of my personal favorites is the Hot and Sweet Pizza—a meat-filled, thin crust pie drizzled with honey. The musical acts on hand here are also sweet. Varying in genre and popularity you can expect anything from local DMV artists to regional and nationally touring acts.
