The Katibeh Art Center, established to exhibit, sell, teach and promote Middle Eastern Art, is now home to the vision of Iranian artist, Ebrahim Emad. Mr. Emad is a highly trained artist and a proponent of art as the connecting bridge between cultures for a beautiful expression of the depths of human emotion and experience. He wants the gallery to become a place where people of all backgrounds can interpret what they see through their own lens to appreciate the glory of nature and humanity seen through the artist’s eye and interpreted by each individual.
According to Mr. Emad, art is a calling with the responsibility to represent the human dialogue and intercultural relationships that form the fabric of our society. Through the artistic exchange we can relate our ideas of the human experience, from joy to sadness, hope to despair, and fear to courage. By encouraging artistic expression, he humbly hopes to engender increased understanding, love, and acceptance of all peoples and creatures of the earth.
Mr. Emad’s own work often includes mystical representations of creatures set in magical natural environs; it is in the flowing details of lines and expression that the range of emotions and portrayal of human experience are illuminated to his audience. He uses his art to create the mirror through which we can examine our own lives and deepest feelings, encouraging self-realization and compassion.
Katibeh will offer Mr. Emad’s works for sale, including gorgeous scarves bearing images of some of his paintings, as well as works by other artists on a rotating basis, so please visit their website for event announcements and details. Classes in drawing, painting, illumination, and calligraphy are available for adults and children.
