VivaTysons Publisher Johnny Hanna Receives Photo Historian Award by the Vienna Business Association

The Vienna Business Association (VBA) held its inaugural awards ceremony on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna, VA. Community members, business owners, awardees and their families joined together for a celebration and banquet dinner with delicious food and beverages provided by Maggiano’s. The awards centered around the history and growth of The Town of Vienna. The outstanding efforts of selected VBA volunteers, represented by diversified businesses, governmental personnel and residents, were honored.

VivaTysons Magazine Publisher, Johnny Hanna was honored as the recipient of the T.R. Cook Photo Historian Award for “selflessly documenting the memories of the present:  enjoyable moments, triumphs in business accomplishments, and community events”. This significantly named award commemorates the dedicated years that T.R. Cook spent giving the community a visual archival trail of Vienna History. Mr. Hanna was presented the award by Emcee Jennifer Nycz-Conner, Editor at Large, Washington Business Journal; the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vienna Business Association; Mary Kay Claus; and Vienna Mayor Laurie DiRocco.

The Vienna Business Association was founded three-and-a-half years ago as a voice for Vienna’s business community and a catalyst for community events. Since its formation, VBA has organized and hosted the annual Vienna Halloween Parade, Oktoberfest and First Night Vienna celebration, events that are free to the public. It holds both breakfast and luncheon meetings and runs a networking breakfast group that meets twice a month. Members sponsor social mixers, as well.
