Tysons Clyde’s to Close February 5, 2017

Clyde’s Restaurant Group has announced that it will close its Tysons Corner location effective February 5th, 2017 due to the redevelopment of the six-acre site. The first Virginia property opened by the popular Washington-based restaurant group, Clyde’s of Tysons Corner has been serving the Northern Virginia community since 1980. Johnny Hanna, Publisher of VivaTysons says, “Clyde’s was the first institution in the Tysons area. It defined Tysons when it comes to dining.  The staff and service was alway impeccable. I am very sad to see it go.”

“It is a difficult day for us,” says Tom Meyer, President of Clyde’s Restaurant Group. “The right decision is often the hardest. We have been privileged to be the backdrop to decades of special occasions, holidays and family celebrations, both large and small at Tysons.” Meyer also added that the Tysons Corner staff will be given employment opportunities at other Clyde’s locations, which include 13 restaurants throughout Maryland, Virginia, and the District.

“Taking care of our people is our top concern right now,” says Meyer. “We have a very dedicated and talented team at Tysons. Our other restaurants will benefit tremendously from having them.” Clyde’s Restaurant Group is currently exploring opportunities in Tysons and throughout the region.
