Shelter House Inc.’s Annual Changing Lives Benefit Breakfast was held on Tuesday, March 28 at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Virginia. Businesses, elected officials and individuals, came together to create awareness and visibility around family homelessness and domestic violence in the community.
The sold-out event of over 300 attendees generated much enthusiasm and support. Kathy Albarado, President and CEO of Helios HR, shared her story and spoke to family homelessness and domestic violence. In addition, two of Shelter House’s former clients were kind enough to share their own success stories.
Shelter House was fortunate enough to receive two matching contributions from donors totaling $30,000 – but help is still needed to fulfill its mission. By spreading the word and donating to Shelter House’s cause, a caring and supportive community can continue to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Shelter House’s mission is to prevent and end homelessness and domestic violence by engaging the community, building effective relationships and providing crisis intervention, safe housing and supportive services.
Shelter House envisions a community free of homelessness and domestic violence.
